I tried the Santa's Private Reserve for the first time a few weeks ago and was pretty impressed as well. I've enjoyed a few different styles from Rogue over the years but have unfortunately been a little hit and miss with quality issues (maybe due to the long cross-country haul to the East?). Alot of places here don't store these quality beers properly either which doesn't help. But I enjoy Rogue brews alot and can typically find a Dead Guy Ale around most places here. Nice blog by the way!

I'm going to look for that Snow Bound as I've been nothing but impressed with everything that I've tried from Left Hand, particularly the Porter. Thanks for the tip!

The Rogue and the Stout were okay, but here's a couple you really need to try: Criminally Bad Elf (also from Ridgeway, and not to be confused with their Bad Elf, Very Bad Elf, or Seriously Bad Elf) and Left Hand's Snow Bound Winter Ale. They both just blew me away, especially the former. I keep wanting to write them up on my blog, but I always lose my ability to type coherent sentences – and eventually just fall asleep – after drinking those heavy duty ales. :-)

I just picked up a bottle of the Rogue a few minutes ago. After reading your review I'm looking forward to the tasting.

Cheers from Houston,
Dude
